Our approach to breeding cattle is to have an open mind and continually aim to improve the overall quality and efficiency of our herd. We place strong emphasis on cattle that have the natural ability to function and survive with minimum human interference by avoiding minimum parasite control, supplementation and NIL calving assistance.
Cattle are expected to thrive in their own environment, have a naturally quite temperament, convert grass to beef efficiently, with weight for age being closely monitored and EBV’S being used as an extra tool. If a beast cannot reproduce, have weaning success, survive in a paddock and breed on true to their superior genetics then they are not worthy of being in our herd!
Our goal is to have both measured genetics and carcass traits as well as consistency for every beast produced in our business. Our cattle are our passion and must produce strong reproductive fertile beef genetics.
Comanche Droughtmasters are all performance recorded using Droughtmaster group breedplan.
